Movement & Posture

Each person has individual movement and postural patterns. Muscles move the joints and support the bones to create posture. Many of us have altered movement and postural patterns. This is caused by imbalances of the muscles around the joints – too much tension in one muscle and too little strength in the muscle that normally balances this overactive muscle. Feet, knees, hips, back, and shoulders are typical areas where clients have issues. Clients often experience pain in joints with muscle imbalances. My first goal is to get my client’s movement and posture in balance. This gives us a strong support structure we can use to create overall fitness.
